Getting Around

There are numerous ways to get to Greenville;  from the highway, by the railway, and by air. Numerous highways pass through or by Greenville and there are also several airports that service the Greenville area. Greenlinks is an active bus system for those who choose not to drive. There is an Amtrak station in Greenville that connects with New York City, Baltimore, Washington, DC, Charlotte, Atlanta, Birmingham, and New Orleans.  The Amtrak is real handy if one is going on business to any of these locations.

Getting Out

If you walk, bike, run, hike, climb, fish, bird watch, golf, camp, boat or just shop then you have come to the right place. In the different parks and trails as well as the nearby mountains, you can find a place to engage nature and enjoy just being outdoors in one of the most spectacular areas of the US.

Is shopping is your hobby?  Greenville’s revitalized downtown is the place to be. You will find boutiques, quaint shops, and places to simply browse and experience the charm of this beautiful southern city.

If you are looking for a night out and fine food then your destination would be downtown. There are many wonderful restaurants: Halls Chophouse is where you will find fine dining from steaks to lobster. Larkin’s On The River offers ambiance and fine American cuisine from the grill.  The Lost Cajun offers American, seafood, Cajun and Creole. The Trappe Door is a European Pub that offers American and Belgian food selections. Pomegranate on Main is another restaurant that offers a  Mediterranean and vegetarian menu. These are only a few of the many great restaurants that make up the dining scene.

  1. I lived in Greenville on and off for 17 years and it’s a terrific small town. Compared to the cities I’ve lived in or near (Philadelphia, Chicago, Atlanta, Boston, NYC, and now Seattle), it’s really a livable size where you see neighbors and coworkers on Main Street or at the store.

    However, except for traffic and home prices, Seattle is far better – for the weather, natural beauty, public transit, income taxes, job opportunity, restaurants, and things to do. For my preferences, I could never go back.
