Ready For Fine Wining and Dining?

Come and relax. Wander the streets and visit the local antique shops, galleries and one of a kind gift shops. Amazing. Stroll down the pier and check out the lighthouse. Imagine having to keep that running to help weary, storm soaked travelers.

Worked up a thirst? Perhaps a tasty pint or glass of wine sounds good. The choice is yours, but here are a few ideas. Stop in at the 12 Corners Vineyards Tasting Room in South Haven to sample their wines. The nearby town of Paw Paw is adorable and has some interesting winery options to explore as well.

If you are on the hunt for some good craft beer you will not be disappointed. Visit Arclight Brewing Company in downtown Watervliet. You can bring your own food, sample their snacks, order from local restaurants or purchase from the food trucks. So fun.

Lawton is home to the Barn Brewers Brewery. A place created for friends to come and share good times. Perhaps a place where you can create a few of your own.

Based on the belief that the best made plans are developed while chatting over a pint in a microbrewery, which every village should have according to them, Final Gravity Brewing Co in Decatur offers a place for friends to meet and plan and drink really good beer. How can you say no to that?

Getting hungry? Who cannot find a reason to have sweet delicious cookies, an awesome cake, or an amazing cake bomb with coffee, cappuccino or hot chocolate when on vacation? Run to Cookies on Call on Phoenix Street in SoHa.

For something more substantial try Captain Lou’s. It is open seasonally and offers outside seating where you can relax and take in the view while having a really good meal. Clementine’s is a super option for casual family dining. It is located in a refurbished Citizen’s Bank building, circa 1896, and offers great food, great service, great atmosphere. For a more formal dining experience, head to HawksHead Links where you can stay, play golf or enjoy a gourmet meal with amazing views.

Do You Love it Enough to go to School There?

Another interesting fact about South Haven is there are sixteen colleges within fifty miles of this picturesque community. Lake Michigan College has a campus in South Haven offering academic and community education courses to about six hundred students per semester. The main campus is in Benton Harbor and is a two year community college.

The largest nearby choice is Western Michigan University, thirty-four miles away in Kalamazoo, which offers undergraduate and graduate degrees. Approximately twenty-five thousand students attend on either a full or part time basis. There are fourteen other options if you don’t find what you want at either of these two educational settings.

And So, Go Visit!
