Oklahoma
Bomb American Double Imperial Stout – Prairie Artisan Ales
Pour Bomb American Double Imperial Stout, brewed in Tulsa, into a pint glass and it comes out dark with a light brown head. The aroma of this beer is coffee, cocoa, caramel with a hint of ancho chili peppers. Cocoa dominates the taste throughout the sipping of this beer. It is surprising with the high alcohol content (13.0% ABV) that there is little if any alcohol taste. The taste finishes with a sudden warming from the chiles. Overall the taste is very smooth. This beer is one of the best beers I have tried while writing this beer survey. For this reason BOMB American Double /Imperial Stout has been picked by America Unraveled as the number one beer in Oklahoma. This is a great Imperial Stout with a good mix of Cocoa and coffee flavor with a nice touch of pepper heat. A must try for the beer lovers of the world.
Nevada
Citra Rye American Pale Ale – Joseph James Brewing, Inc.
Sitting at the heart of this American Pale Ale, brewed in Henderson, is the 2- row Vienna and Rye malts in conjunction with Centennial and Citra hops. Light orange when you pour this APA into a pint glass with a thick off- white head. The aroma of Citra Rye (5.4% ABV) is citrus notes and spicy rye. The taste brings out the citrus orange flavored hops with a hint of honey sweetness and a peppery sensation from the rye.
I would say that this is a very dry pale ale with a bold taste. An enjoyable beer that is very drinkable and is different from other pale ales because of the change up with the Rye component. This difference that sets CITRA RYE apart from other pale ales, and that is the reason America Unraveled has chosen CITRA RYE APA the number one beer in Nevada.
